Oasis Livestock Abu Dhabi, UAE · Halal · ISO 22000 · 23 Years

Twenty-three years of trust built at the livestock yard. Now extending that trust online.

Leader Meat Packing Corp., a USDA-certified halal packer in Chesterfield, NJ, ran every wholesale order by phone. No digital catalog, no invoicing system, no AR visibility. Perishly built a B2B ordering portal in 14 days. Phone order volume dropped 70% in 60 days.

Key Outcomes

64% of Weekly Order Volume Now Placed Digitally Within 90 Days of Go-Live
Customers who previously visited the livestock yard or called to order now select their animal species, cuts, and weight online — with delivery scheduled at checkout.
Zabehaty App Orders Now Feed Directly Into the Fulfillment Portal
The Zabehaty consumer app and the Perishly B2B portal share a unified inventory and fulfillment view. Orders from both channels appear in one queue. No duplicate processing.
Halal Certification and ISO 22000 Documentation Visible at Product Level
Every product page displays the certification body, slaughter date window, and compliance documentation. Institutional buyers verify compliance without a follow-up conversation.
Multi-Location Yard Management (Abu Dhabi, Al Shahama, Baniyas, Sharjah) Unified
Inventory across all four livestock yard locations is visible in a single dashboard. Orders route to the nearest available yard automatically based on the buyer’s delivery address.
Background

Field to table has been the mission for 23 years. Digital was the missing piece.

Oasis Livestock Company was established in Abu Dhabi with a mandate built on 23 years of experience across every dimension of the livestock chain: live animal trade, slaughterhouse management, fresh and frozen red meat distribution, poultry, and animal feed. Their operational footprint spans Abu Dhabi’s automated slaughterhouse, Al Shahama, Baniyas, and Sharjah livestock markets. Every process is ISO 22000 certified. Every animal is processed according to Islamic law.

Their stated vision — “from the field to the table” — was not marketing language. It was an operational commitment to full chain traceability in a market where halal compliance, supply chain integrity, and food safety certification are non-negotiable customer expectations. The infrastructure was world-class. The customer-facing digital experience was not.

Gulf Market Context

The UAE meat market is estimated at over AED 10 billion annually, with strong demand for on-demand fresh halal cuts delivered to home. The Zabehaty model — digital ordering for fresh halal meat — is a well-established consumer expectation in Abu Dhabi. Oasis Livestock’s competitive position required a digital channel that matched the sophistication of their physical operation.

Oasis had already built the Zabehaty app — a consumer-facing interface for ordering fresh halal meat. But the Zabehaty channel and the physical yard ordering process operated independently, with no unified inventory view and no connected B2B institutional ordering portal. Hotels, restaurants, and catering operations ordering in bulk had no digital channel. The consumer app and the institutional wholesale operation existed in parallel, without shared infrastructure.

“Our goal has always been to give customers the best product, butchered fresh, delivered to their door. We had the process. We had the certification. We needed the digital infrastructure to make it work at the scale the market demands.”

Problem

A multi-yard, multi-species halal operation with no single digital order channel for institutions or consumers.

The ordering reality for most Oasis Livestock customers was physical. Retail consumers visited the yard to select their animal or called the Zabehaty number. Institutional buyers — hotels, large restaurants, hospital catering operations — placed orders by phone or through personal account manager relationships. There was no self-service catalog, no portal for institutional accounts, and no mechanism for buyers to verify certification status without requesting documentation separately.

The compliance documentation problem was particularly acute for institutional buyers. A hotel procurement team approving a halal meat supplier needs to see ISO 22000 certification and halal compliance documentation before the first purchase order is raised. When those documents live in a filing cabinet rather than attached to a digital product page, the procurement timeline extends by days or weeks. Some institutional accounts chose faster-responding competitors for no reason other than documentation accessibility.

The multi-yard inventory problem compounded operational complexity. With yards in Abu Dhabi, Al Shahama, Baniyas, and Sharjah, routing an order to the right location was a manual judgment call. An order placed from Sharjah might be routed to Abu Dhabi because no one checked Sharjah’s current availability. Delivery routes were not optimized across locations. The operation was more efficient than it appeared from the customer’s vantage point, but the customer experience did not reflect that efficiency.

Solution

One unified portal: consumer ordering, institutional B2B, Zabehaty integration, and certification at checkout.

The build required understanding two distinct customer types with fundamentally different ordering behaviors: the retail consumer who wants to order a specific cut of sheep or cow online and receive it fresh the same day, and the institutional buyer who needs a custom price list, net payment terms, and certification documentation before any order is raised. Both audiences needed to be served from the same operational backbone without seeing each other’s pricing or experience.

  • Consumer DTC portal for fresh halal cuts on demand. Buyers select species (sheep, cow, camel), cut preferences, and weight range. Delivery window scheduling aligned to yard slaughter schedules. Fresh product butchered per order — not pre-packed — consistent with Oasis Livestock’s “butchered, prepared, and packed upon your request” model.
  • Zabehaty app order integration. Consumer orders placed through the Zabehaty app now flow directly into the unified fulfillment portal. The app and the portal share a single inventory and production queue. Duplicate entries eliminated. Fulfillment team sees all orders in one dashboard regardless of originating channel.
  • Institutional B2B portal with custom pricing per account. Hotels, catering operations, and restaurant groups have dedicated accounts with their negotiated pricing, minimum order sizes, and net payment terms built in. Institutional orders generate invoices automatically. Procurement teams place orders without calling an account manager.
  • ISO 22000 and halal certification displayed at product level. Every product page carries the certification body, current certification status, and downloadable compliance documentation. Institutional buyers access ISO 22000 · Halal (Islamic Law)certification during the ordering process — not after raising a separate documentation request.
  • Multi-yard inventory routing. Orders route to the nearest available yard based on the buyer’s delivery address. The system checks real-time availability across Abu Dhabi, Al Shahama, Baniyas, and Sharjah before confirming the order and assigning a fulfillment location. Manual routing decisions eliminated.
  • Arabic and English bilingual checkout. The portal operates in both languages with currency support for AED. Buyers switch language preference at any point without losing cart state.

The institutional procurement acceleration was the highest-value result in the first 90 days. Two hotel group accounts — each representing significant recurring monthly volume — completed their compliance verification and raised their first purchase orders within 10 days of portal access. Before the portal, the documentation exchange alone had taken three weeks with each potential institutional account. The certification was always available. The friction was in accessing it.

“The certification was never the problem — we’ve been ISO 22000 certified and fully halal-compliant for years. The problem was that buyers had to ask for it separately, wait for the email, review it offline, then come back to discuss pricing. Now it’s all in one place. The conversation starts and ends at the portal.”

The Zabehaty integration resolved a problem the team had not fully quantified until it was fixed: duplicate fulfillment entries from app orders being manually re-entered into the production system. With both channels feeding a single queue, the production team processes each order once. Fulfillment errors dropped measurably in the first week after integration.

The multi-yard routing has reduced delivery time for orders originating from Sharjah and Baniyas by routing to the nearest yard rather than defaulting to the Abu Dhabi location. Average delivery window for those addresses shortened from same-day-evening to same-day-afternoon in the majority of cases.
